Roof Repair Smedway built its Hail Damage Roof Repair division around one idea: homeowners in Moscow deserve a straight answer, a fair price, and a truck in the driveway fast.
Roof Repair Smedway didn't start as a franchise looking for a market to plant a sign in. Our crews trained on real tear-offs, real ridge vents, and real attic inspections in Moscow, IA before we ever put a truck on the road under this name.
We carry full liability coverage and workers' compensation, and every lead installer holds current state licensing, so a claim adjuster, a home inspector, or your own insurance carrier can verify our credentials without a single awkward phone call.
Roofing is a trade where shortcuts hide for a year or two and then fail at the worst possible moment, usually during the next hard rain. We build every Hail Damage Roof Repair job — big or small — the same way, whether it's a single shingle repair or a full tear-off.
Verified licensing across Moscow, IA with documentation available on request.
A tarp-down call at 2 a.m. gets the same urgency as one at 2 p.m.
Every estimate is itemized in writing so you know exactly what you're paying for.
Local crews already know the weather patterns and permit offices in Moscow, IA.
Most roof failures don't happen overnight — they build quietly for months before a homeowner notices the ceiling stain that finally forces the issue.
Heavy granule loss is one of the earliest visible clues that a roof is approaching the end of its service life.
Cupped shingles trap moisture underneath instead of shedding it, accelerating rot in the decking below.
Visible light through the roof deck is a direct sign the barrier between your attic and the weather has been compromised.
Ceiling stains tend to grow slowly, which is exactly why they're often ignored until the damage spreads.
Energy bills that creep upward without an obvious reason are worth checking against your roof's condition.
Missing shingles expose the underlayment, which is only designed as a temporary secondary barrier, not a long-term surface.
Not every roof problem calls for the same fix, which is why we scope each job individually instead of running every call through one generic estimate.
When high wind or hail peels back a section of roofing, our on-call crew tarps the exposed area to stop active water intrusion before it reaches the decking, then schedules the permanent repair.
Residential work covers shingle repair, full re-roofs, ridge and soffit ventilation upgrades, and skylight flashing — whatever the house actually needs.
Commercial roofs carry different loads and different membrane systems than residential shingles, and our crews are trained on TPO, EPDM, and modified bitumen accordingly.
A full tear-off strips the roof down to the decking, replaces damaged boards, and installs a new underlayment and shingle system built to current code.
Scheduled maintenance visits catch loose flashing and clogged valleys before the next storm turns them into an emergency call.
Chimney crickets, skylight seals, and valley flashing are common leak points that general handyman work often gets wrong — our crews treat them as their own scope.
Calls placed after hours still reach an on-call line for anything urgent.
The inspection covers decking condition, flashing points, and ventilation, not just the obvious problem area.
You receive an itemized, written estimate before any work begins, covering materials, labor, and disposal.
Warranty documentation is provided on completion for both materials and labor.
Because our teams are already local, we're rarely the company still driving in from three counties away.
We'd rather lose a job over an honest price than win one with a lowball number that grows later.
Our installers train on manufacturer specifications for shingles, underlayment, and flashing systems, not just general carpentry.
Every repair and install comes with a workmanship warranty separate from the manufacturer's material warranty.
We've worked with enough adjusters across Moscow, IA to know what documentation actually gets a claim approved faster.
Our technicians explain the reasoning behind every recommendation so you're deciding with full information, not a sales script.
A verbal promise doesn't hold up when you need it — that's why our guarantee is documented, dated, and handed to you at project close.
If a crew leader finds something during teardown that changes the scope, you'll hear about it before it changes your bill, not after.
Our Moscow coverage area extends across Moscow, IA, and if your address falls just outside the standard zone, dispatch can usually still arrange a visit.
If a storm system moves through Moscow, IA and call volume spikes, we prioritize active leaks first and communicate realistic wait times for everything else rather than leaving people guessing.
